If you want to do art as a career, Go to your guidance counselor in High school and talk to her about doing vocational art. It was the best decision I ever made.
The way I do it is at a shared time program, Half the day at a different school to take my art class, the other half at my home school for the rest of my classes (they do math and science at voc)
You should really look into it, chances are the vocational art program is better than your home high schools art.
